Our Town
Where rural beauty and historic charm combine
Settled within rolling mountains is the town of Jefferson, where houses in the Hamlet were built between 100-200 years ago. Return to a time when a small-town community surrounds a village green lined with maple trees symbolic of the town’s active maple sugar industry. Enjoy the beautifully-restored Maple Museum and Judd Hall, a unique 13-sided barn, and local churches. Take a nature walk on a trail that begins behind our carefully preserved one-room schoolhouse.
A welcoming, small-town community
far from the noise and bustle of the world
Within Jefferson’s small-town atmosphere are friendly people who will make you feel at home. Breathe in the clear mountain air and enjoy the brilliant colors of nature not dulled by air pollution. Experience a spectacular night sky filled with stars that can be seen with the naked eye. Catch the dancing Aurora Borealis in winter or shooting star spectaculars in August. Amaze at the vivid fall colors of maple trees. Fish and swim in nearby streams. Watch beavers and otters play, deer graze, fox, raccoons, opossums, mink and fishers dart along the road, and catch sight of an abundance of birds, from hummingbirds to eagles, that populate our area.
